Ike Comes to Town

This "pod" is a very interesting one. In this "pod" it talks about the damage that Ike caused in Galveston and how it affected many people.  What makes this a nice pod is that the the person that was doing the commentary and filming also interviewed a resident of Galveston. This gave the viewer another viewpoint and story to the film. It also placed a face in front of the camera instead of one some just talking from behind the camera. The "pod" was well shot, well commented, and overall excellent.

My Website Concept

The website that I am thinking about doing is one about a Sports Store. The website will be based around an athletic concept. The website will function as a site to buy clothes, energy drinks, and workout videos of professional athletes. The web site will also allow the viewer to chat and email professional athletes of different sports to gain more information about how to improve their game. So overall the website is going to serve as a distribution website and a website to obtain insightful information .

New Media in Today's World

Media it today's world has made an enormous step in our lives. Media is now the main source of our everyday world. With the new technology, media can be spread from far and wide to any part of the world. One can recall from history class how back in the late 1800 to 1900 how one would receive their media through the word of mouth. Now media is just a click away on any computer or cell phone. Furthermore, media now can be seen live on television or on a computer. This now gives the viewer the confidence that the sight they are seeing is real and not just information that is pasted on from one person to another. Media is now a way of life and without it the world wouldn't know how to function. Media has come a long way and is here to stay and who know what new innovations that the upcoming years will bring us. We will just have to wait and see, I know it will be worth the wait.

A Good Title

Jessica Simpson: As You're Never Seen Her!
This title says it all. It grabs the readers attention because it uses a well-known person and portrays her in a wild way.
Grab Life By The Horns: Dodge
The Dodge title is a title that is well-know and can be easily remembered. A quote that when it is said, gives a image of the vehicle.
Load it, Lock it, and Rock It At Your Own Risk: Tag Body Spray
An excellent way to grab a persons attention. The load it, lock it, rock it, keeps the reader wanting more and keeps the sentence alive. Adds feeling and enthusiasm to the whole sentence.

Cliches: Over Used

1."Good credit, Bad credit, No credit" (Houston Chronicle: 3:43 p.m)
It's ironic how they use this cliche, but to even receive telephone service you need some type of credit.
2."Hush, One of the Hottest Nite Club" (104.1 KRBE: 8:45p.m)
How can Hush be one of the hottest nite clubs, when it isn't in the top ten clubs in the State of Texas.
3."Be All That You Can Be- The Army" (CBS: 3:12 p.m.)
How can the Army make you the person you are, when you are already yourself.
4."The Network with the Least Dropped Calls" (FSN: 10:37 p.m.)
Version Wireless claims there phones work anywhere and has the least dropped calls. However there phones doesn't work in wooded areas and drops its fair share of calls.
5."We don't make it until you order it" (Jack-N-The-Box: 5:56)
The food is already made and is just put together when you order it.

The Meaning of Unity

What is Unity? Unity have many different meaning that can be associated with it. However, Zinsser uses unity in the terms of having a paper or a story flow together. Unity takes on countless numbers of faces in a piece of writing. Unity focuses on keeping the writer from writing useless material, using different tenses back in forth. For example, past to present then back to the past, then unto the future. Unity can also set the mood and feeling of a story but shouldn't be mixed with three or more tones.
Unity is important in media writing because it keeps the writer on topic and helps the paper run smoothly. Unity also is the framework to set up the materials in a paper and to establish what isn't in the piece of writing and what needs to be placed into it. Unity is a important part of how and what the story should consist of. Unity is just what one would perceive it to mean, to be together as one and work towards one goal.
